On dates of birth - you will see that I associate a birth year with all individuals. I need to do this as a means of distinguishing people, and indexing them, so where I don't know a year of birth I simply make a crude guess, and so I will frequently have the wrong year associated with people. No intent to offend. I can change the year to something else.
On privacy of the data. If I know a date of birth, marriage or death, I use it. I know that some might wish to keep such detail, especially of a birth date, private. I am very happy to remove the detail if you wish it.
